Why 60 fps Videos Take Longer

The AI reads every frame. A 60 fps clip has twice as many frames as a 30 fps clip of the same length, so it takes about 1.5 to 2 times longer.

• 24 to 30 fps: fastest. Most film, TV and phone video.
• 50 to 60 fps: 1.5 to 2 times slower. Sports and action cameras.
• Above 60 fps: not accepted.

Slow motion at 120 or 240 fps is rejected at upload. One minute at 240 fps holds 14,400 frames, the same as eight minutes at 30 fps.

To fix a rejected clip, re-export it at 30 or 60 fps in HandBrake, iMovie or any editor. The slow-motion look stays.

A lower frame rate does not use fewer minutes. A minute is a minute of source video.
