Why 60 fps Videos Take Longer

The AI reads every frame. A 60 fps clip has twice as many frames as a 30 fps clip of the same length, so it takes about 1.5 to 2 times longer.

• 24 to 30 fps: fastest. Most film, TV and phone video.
• 50 to 60 fps: 1.5 to 2 times slower. Sports and action cameras.
• Above 60 fps: accepted, and brought down to 60 fps before the conversion, so it takes about as long as a 60 fps clip.

Slow motion at 120 or 240 fps and action cameras at 90 or 100 fps are all delivered at 60 fps, the highest frame rate headsets play smoothly.

A lower frame rate does not use fewer minutes. A minute is a minute of source video.
