HDR Video Conversion

HDR works on every bundle, up to 8K. There is no HDR limit tied to what you paid. Starter handles HDR exactly like Studio does.

Supported:

  • HDR10 (PQ)
  • HLG
  • Dolby Vision. We keep the HDR10 base layer and drop the dynamic metadata.

What you get back: 10-bit HEVC with the original transfer function and BT.2020 colours. On an HDR headset you see the full range. On an SDR screen your player tone-maps it.

One thing to know: Apple's Photos app on Vision Pro still tone-maps spatial video to SDR. For the best HDR today, use the Full SBS file in a player like Skybox VR or DeoVR.

Colours look washed out? See "My HDR Video Looks Washed Out".
