Can I Upload My 3D Video to YouTube?

Yes. The Full Side-by-Side (SBS) file you download from your dashboard is the same stereo format YouTube uses for 3D videos.

How it works:

• Download the Full SBS version of your conversion and upload it to YouTube like any normal video.
• YouTube detects 3D through metadata embedded in the file. When it is recognised, headset viewers can watch it in real 3D in the YouTube VR app, and YouTube shows a flat version on normal screens.
• If your upload plays as two images next to each other, the 3D flag was not picked up. Contact support and we will help you tag the file.

Note: the Spatial Video (MV-HEVC) file for Apple Vision Pro is not suitable for YouTube. Always use the SBS version there.

Keep in mind that YouTube re-compresses every upload. For the best possible quality, use the hosted watch link from your dashboard instead: that streams the original file straight to the headset.
