Typical times on our servers, measured from the start of the conversion. The exact time depends on resolution, number of frames and how busy it is; you get an email the moment your video is ready.
| Your video | Typical conversion time |
|---|---|
| 1080p, 24–30 fps | Faster than real time |
| 4K, 24–30 fps | About real time — a 5-minute video in about 5 minutes |
| 4K, 60 fps or HDR | About real time to 1.3 × the length |
| 8K | Longer than real time; depends on the length |
| 360° and VR180 | Longer than real time; depends on the length |
| Spatial version (Apple Vision Pro) | Adds about the length of the video |
| Free 2-minute preview | Usually ready within a few minutes |
Not every video asks for the same 3D. Pick a style, or fine-tune it yourself.
Gentle depth that is easy on the eyes — the best choice for close-ups and long viewing.
Clear, natural depth, like a 3D film in the cinema. The default, and right for most videos.
The strongest effect. Striking, but fine details can show small artefacts.
Advanced: set depth strength from 50 to 150%, and how far things come out of the screen (pop-out, 0 to 100%). Not happy with the result? You can re-convert each video once for free within 7 days.
Open xclusivevr.com/vr in the headset, type a 6-character code and it streams. No app, no cable, no file to copy.
On Meta Quest your videos play in a choice of places: a cinema, a hotel suite, a lounge, a beach, a lake, or your own room in passthrough.
For Apple Vision Pro you get MV-HEVC, the format Photos plays natively — not only side-by-side for third-party apps.
HDR10, HLG and PQ go in and come out as 10-bit HDR, not flattened to SDR.
Full Side-by-Side: each eye gets the full width of your video, not half.
From phone video to old AVI and WMV, at any frame rate, in 2D, 360° or VR180.
The first 2 minutes are free, without an account or card.
Pay per minute, valid for 12 months. Changed your mind? Refund within 7 days if you used less than 20% of your minutes.
A normal video was filmed with one lens, so it holds one point of view. Real 3D needs two: one for your left eye, one for your right. The conversion creates that second view, frame by frame.
AI estimates how far away every part of the picture is — the person in front, the room behind, the sky at the back. The result is a depth map for each frame.
From that depth, a view for the other eye is calculated: close objects shift more than distant ones, exactly the difference your eyes see in real life.
Moving the viewpoint reveals a little of what was hidden behind objects. Those edges are filled in, and kept steady from frame to frame, so nothing flickers.
Both views are encoded into one stereoscopic file with 3D metadata, so headsets and players recognise it straight away.
Your original video is never edited. The 3D version is a new file, made from it.
Your 3D video is a normal file with 3D information inside, so it plays far beyond our own site. Most players recognise it by themselves; if one doesn't, choose side-by-side (Full SBS) in its 3D settings.
| Device | How to play it | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Quest | Straight in the headset browser at xclusivevr.com/vr — no app — or in SKYBOX, DeoVR, Pigasus, 4XVR or Bigscreen | In the browser it streams; in a player app you use the downloaded file. |
| Pico | A 3D video player such as SKYBOX or DeoVR | The same side-by-side file as for Meta Quest. |
| Samsung Galaxy XR | A 3D video player that supports side-by-side | Use the side-by-side file, the same as for Meta Quest. |
| Apple Vision Pro | The spatial version (MV-HEVC) opens straight in Apple's own Photos app — no extra app needed | Unlike side-by-side-only services, you get Apple's own spatial format. Prefer a player app? The side-by-side file plays in SKYBOX, Moon Player or Reality Player. |
| PlayStation VR2 | Rad TV | Plays the side-by-side file as stereoscopic 3D. |
| 3D TVs and projectors | The TV's own 3D mode, or a media player connected to it | Pick side-by-side in the 3D menu. Older 3D TVs were built for half-width side-by-side, so results with Full SBS differ per model. |
| Android TV, Fire TV, NVIDIA Shield | Kodi | Switches the TV into 3D mode for you. |
| Windows | PotPlayer or Bino | PotPlayer can also show the video in red-cyan, for simple paper 3D glasses. |
| Mac | mpv or Bino | Both play side-by-side 3D on a normal screen. |
| Linux | Bino or mpv | Bino is available via Flathub. |
| iPhone, iPad and Android | nPlayer | Turn on its 3D mode and choose side-by-side as the input. |
| YouTube | Upload the side-by-side file | The 3D information is already inside, so YouTube recognises it as 3D. |

Almost any. Standard formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM work, and older ones like AVI, WMV, MPG and FLV too, from 480p up to 8K, up to 30 minutes per video. Footage with a clear subject and steady camera gives the strongest 3D.
Real stereoscopic 3D: a separate image for each eye, calculated from the depth in every frame. In a headset you see real depth, not a flat picture with an effect.
No. You get full resolution per eye — up to 4K per eye — with your original frame rate, HDR and audio kept.
Both eye images placed next to each other in one video, each at full resolution. It is the most widely supported 3D format for VR headsets, players and YouTube.
Spatial video (MV-HEVC). Every conversion can deliver it as a .mov file that opens in Photos on Apple Vision Pro.
For 4K at 30 fps about real time: a 5-minute video is usually ready in about 5 minutes. 1080p is faster; 8K, 360° and the spatial version take longer. You get an email when it's done.
No. Everything runs in your browser, and on Meta Quest you watch straight from the headset browser.
Yes. Your first 2 minutes are free, without an account or card. The free version has a small watermark and plays at 30 fps in SDR.
