Halos or Edge Artifacts in My Video

Switch to the Comfort or Cinema setting and convert again. That fixes it for most videos.

Why it happens: the AI has to invent the pixels hidden behind foreground objects. Aggressive pushes the two eye views further apart, so there is more to invent, and edges show a soft halo.

What else helps:

  • Avoid Aggressive on high-contrast edges: a white object on black, headlights at night, fine hair.
  • Use sharp, well-lit footage. Compression, motion blur and low light all make depth harder to read.

Not a normal trade-off, and worth reporting:

  • Hard tearing lines instead of a soft halo
  • Background in front of the foreground
  • 3D that flickers between frames

Send us your video ID and we will investigate.
