Everything you have already filmed can go on YouTube in 3D. Not a gimmick with red-and-blue glasses, and not a filter that fakes it — real depth, the kind where someone in a headset leans back a little because a wave came at them.
You do not need a new camera, a rig, or a second lens. The footage on your phone, your GoPro or your memory card is enough.
What actually changes for the viewer
Flat video is something you watch. Put the same clip in a headset with real depth and it stops being a rectangle in front of you and becomes a place you are standing in. The handlebars are at arm's length, the trail drops away, the trees have space between them.
People notice it in their body before they can explain it. That is the whole point, and it is why the same footage suddenly holds someone's attention for a full three minutes instead of eight seconds.
Where it works best
POV and action. This is the sweet spot. Helmet cam on a mountain bike, chest mount while skiing, a motorcycle ride through a mountain pass, a surf session, a downhill run. Point-of-view footage already puts the viewer behind your eyes; depth is the missing half. The ground rushing past just underneath you is something flat video simply cannot deliver.
Family and the moments you cannot repeat. A first birthday, a wedding, your child in the garden last summer. In a headset you are back in the room at the right size, not looking at a screen. This is the one people are least prepared for.
Travel and places. A market street, a canyon, a cathedral. Scale is depth — a big space only feels big when your eyes can tell how far away the far wall is.
Concerts and events. The stage at a distance, the crowd in front of you, the lights hanging in between. Layers are exactly what a headset renders well.
Property, venues and showrooms. A walkthrough where a viewer can judge how big a room really is beats any set of photographs, and they can do it from the sofa.
Teaching and demonstrations. Anything where the viewer needs to see how far your hands are from the work — a repair, a recipe, a technique — reads better when the distance is real.
How it works
You upload the clip you already have. A normal video from a phone or a camera, or a 360 recording. Nothing needs preparing.
We work out the distance to everything in the shot. Frame by frame, we build a picture of what is near and what is far — the railing in front, the person in the middle, the hills behind.
We build the second eye. Your original becomes the view for one eye, and we create the matching view for the other, shifted exactly as much as the distance calls for. Two pictures, one file.
We label the file so YouTube plays it in 3D. YouTube needs a marker inside the video to know it is looking at a stereo file. We write it during the conversion, so you just upload the file you downloaded from us. No renaming tricks, no metadata tool, no setting to find in the upload screen.
Already own a 360 camera? You are halfway there.
An Insta360 X5 or X6, a GoPro Max 2, a DJI Osmo 360 — these film the whole sphere, so your viewer can look in any direction. But they film it flat. Both lenses sit on the same little body pointing outwards, so there is one view of the world wrapped around you, not a separate one for each eye. You can look around; you cannot look into anything. Everything sits at the same imaginary distance.
That is what we add: the second eye, so your 360 footage gets genuine depth. The fence is near, the church tower is far, and your brain believes it.
There is also a second thing you can do with the same recording. Most of what happened was in front of the camera anyway, so we can take the front half and deliver it as VR180 instead. You lose the part behind you that nobody was watching, and in exchange every pixel goes into the half you were actually pointing at, instead of being spread thin across the entire ball. What to expect once it is on YouTube
Watch it in a headset. The YouTube app on a Meta Quest is where the 3D happens. On a laptop or a phone your viewers see the flat version, and that is normal — the same upload serves both.
Give YouTube a moment. Immersive formats take longer to process than ordinary video, so the first playback right after upload can still be the flat one.
There is far less competition in there. The amount of proper 3D content on YouTube is tiny next to the flat catalogue. If your subject suits a headset, that is a shelf with a lot of room on it.
Keep the original. YouTube re-compresses everything it receives. The file you downloaded from us is always sharper than the stream, so play that one locally when you want to show someone what it can really look like.
