What Happens If an API Conversion Fails?

Sometimes a conversion cannot be completed, for example because the file is damaged or the source link no longer works.

What you get:

• The conversion gets the status "failed", with a code and a short explanation
• Your webhook receives a conversion.failed message
• Minutes that were already taken go back to your balance automatically, within a minute

You do not need to ask for the refund. The most common causes are a source link that is not publicly reachable or that redirects, a file larger than 150 GB, or a video longer than 30 minutes.
